Frequently Asked Questions

A Polaris Slingshot parked at the Diplomat Beach Resort entrance in Hollywood

Everything people ask before their first ride. Still stuck? Call or text 954-418-2633.

Is there an age limit for Slingshot rentals?

The open road is yours at 21 and up. All you need is a valid driver’s license, with no motorcycle endorsement required. Bring that license and the credit card you booked with so we can verify them at check-in. Every rider must be tall enough to sit with their back against the seat, both feet flat on the floor, and the seat belt properly secured. The Slingshot cannot take a child safety seat.

Do I need a motorcycle license to rent a Slingshot?

No. In Florida the Polaris Slingshot is classified as an autocycle, so there’s no motorcycle license and no special training required. If you hold a valid driver’s license, you’re cleared to grab the wheel and go.

Where do I park?

Every one of our locations offers complimentary self-parking, plus valet if you’d rather hand off the keys.

Do you offer delivery?

Sometimes, depending on where you are. Most guests pick up from us at GALLERYone Hotel in Fort Lauderdale or the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood Beach. If getting to us isn’t practical, we deliver in and around Miami, Fort Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches. Call or text 954-418-2633 at least 24 hours before your rental date and we’ll let you know whether we can reach you.

Are helmets mandatory?

Every Slingshot comes with two DOT-approved full-face helmets at no extra charge. We ask that all riders wear one when leaving our property. Each helmet has a built-in face shield, which doubles as your eye protection.

Are the miles unlimited?

Unlimited, every time. There are no mileage caps and no surprise fees.

Do I need to fill up the gas tank when returning?

Your Slingshot starts with a full tank of 93-octane premium, and we ask that you bring it back full. To skip the pump, add our prepaid fuel option when you book and return the vehicle at any fuel level.

What type of gas does it take?

Premium 93-octane only.

What are the requirements?

Drivers must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license, and the license and card used to book must be presented at check-in, with no exceptions. A flat $150 refundable damage deposit applies to every driver 21 and older. It’s a hold, not a charge, and it’s released once you return the Slingshot damage-free. Apple Pay is accepted only when paired with the matching physical card at check-in, and each driver is responsible for any damage to the vehicle during the rental per your rental agreement.

What should I bring?

Your physical driver’s license and the physical credit card you booked with, both required at check-in. After that, keep it simple: closed-toe shoes, sunscreen and a hair tie if your hair is long. Helmets are included. Pack light, since the Slingshot is an open-air two-seater with limited storage. The Slingshot has USB ports, so just bring your phone charging cord and you can plug in during your rental.

Do you offer refunds?

We don’t offer refunds, but we do offer flexibility. Give us at least 24 hours’ notice and you’ll receive full credit toward a future ride. That credit never expires and it’s transferable. We can’t refund for changes of plans, flight delays or unmet expectations. Weather is handled separately.

What happens if it rains?

South Florida weather moves fast, so a rainy forecast rarely means a cancelled ride. If you added the Sensible Weather Guarantee at checkout, Sensible Weather measures the actual rainfall at your location during your rental window, and if it passes the threshold in your guarantee they reimburse you automatically. If you didn’t add it, we can’t refund for weather, but we’ll do our best to move your ride to a later slot the same day or another day, subject to availability.

What is Rider Protection?

Rider Protection is Polaris’s coverage that helps shield you from unexpected costs during your rental. See our rider protections page for what’s included in every SoFlo rental.
